Unworthiness of heirs - Heirs are called unworthy who, by the failure in some duty towards a person, have not deserved to inherit from him, and are therefore deprived of his succession.

Usufruct - Usufruct is a
REAL RIGHT of limited duration on the property of another. It is similar to the common law's
life estate, although the usufruct need not last for life.
Usufruct is one of the three sorts of
PERSONAL SERVITUDES.
Legal usufruct - An usufruct established by law in favor of a surviving spouse over the deceased spouse's share of the
COMMUNITY PROPERTY that may be inherited by their descendants.
Naked ownership - The ownership of a
THING burdened with a usufruct is the naked ownership, which is owned by the naked owner. Naked ownership is similar to a
reversion or
estate in reversion, the
residue of a life estate.
Usufructuary - The owner of the usufruct, similar to a life tenant.
